Kat Von D, the star of LA Ink is not only a talented tattoo artist , but she has brains, beauty, and a genuinely kind heart. A combination that most stars are missing.
Kat has her own show and is making some of her biggest life decisions this season on LA Ink, but this lens is about Kat and her talent as an artist.
Kat Von D was born in Mexico on March 8th, 1982
Her mother is Argentinian and her father is German. Kat's real name is Kathrine Von Drachenberg. Kat grew up in Colton, California and got her first tattoo at age 14. It was then when she realized her love for tattoos. She began to tattoo friends and discovered that she was really good at it and hasn't stopped since that day. Kat Von D then started to work professionally a few years later in a shop called, Sin City Tattoo, and then went to Blue Bird Tattoo in Pasadena .
She worked in many shops over the next few years and then ended up living in Los Angeles where she met her husband. artist Oliver Peck. She then participated on the show Miami Ink for two years. On the show, she worked with some other talented tattoo artists like Ami James of the new show NY Ink and Chris Nunez.
Kat left the Miami Ink show and started her own show called LA Ink in 2007. The name of her shop is called High Voltage. They have added an art gallery and a boutique right next to her shop in LA.
Kat is also a pianist and was influenced to play piano by her grandmother who encouraged Kat to pursue the arts. She loves Beethoven. Now Kat's show LA Ink is still on the air and Kat even has a makeup line that she designed the packaging for. She named her eye color palettes after classical composers and she has a tattoo concealer.
Kat Von D - It's a funny thing about biography pages on websites... they never seem to achieve their goals. Ostensibly, the facts presented seem to attempt to give you some idea of the artist, where they are from, where they are going, what they believe to be valuable, etc. they are intended to let the visitor know better the person behind the work, but usually fall far short of communicating any real sense of their character...

Nate Fierro - Nathan Michael Fierro, (referred to as Nate by some) was born in Hollywood, California in 1979, and continues to reside and work there.
