I live and work in the amazing city of Chicago, Illinois.
I’ve been tattooing professionally since 1996, after serving a formal 2-year apprenticeship with Cap Szumski at Timeless Tattoo in Atlanta, GA.
I moved back to Chicago in 2004 to be nearer to my family. I started working at Tattoo Factory in the notorious Uptown neighborhood upon my return, and remained there until November of 2012.
With love and blessings from my Tattoo Factory family, I have opened my own private tattoo studio, and am available by appointment only. If you would like to get tattooed by me, please use the contact form.
I love to do all styles of tattooing, and enjoy making the design flow with the natural lines of the body. If I think another tattooer would be better suited for what you want done, I'll be honest and refer you to the right person.
I take pride in my work, and can generally draw whatever you want. I’m a perfectionist, which is a blessing and a curse. I was trained by one of the best tattooers in the business, so there's no pressure there!
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. My loved ones have always encouraged me in all of my creative endeavors, and I have always had full support in making my dreams a reality.
I am a student-at-large at the Chicago Mosaic School, where I am allowed to break things and put them back together in pleasing and occasionally bizarre fashions.
I became totally immersed in belly dance in the early ‘90’s. My interest now ebbs and flows, but it’s always going to be a part of me. I’m fortunate to have studied with two exceptional dancers for many years, Layla Katrina and Aziza Nawal. I was a member of both of their performing troupes when I lived in Atlanta . I haven’t found my belly dance niche’ in Chicago, but it might be here somewhere. Even if I never dance again, I have years of wonderful memories to look back on.
I do my best to do hatha yoga and meditate on a regular basis, which helps keep me centered and not act like a jerk. If I can ever find the time, I'd love to train to become a yoga teacher. I'd like to be able to help people who are injured or otherwise not in peak physical condition find some peace within their bodies and spirits.
For many years, I’ve ridden a 1980 Vespa P200. She has a boomin’ system and is quite the attention-getter. In 2008, I acquired a gorgeous 1961 Series 2 TV175 Lambretta. I can’t get enough of old scooters, but I’m also fond of mopeds and vintage motorcycles.
Traveling is my drug. I am in love with Northern Europe, and have been to Sweden several times. I think Denmark might be the most beautiful place on Earth, though my Swedish friends would disagree! I can never get enough of exploring, and my future adventures will include Italy, India, Prague, Egypt, Petra, Australia, Mars, etc.
I grew up in a very rock n’ roll family full of musicians and artists. My favourite band is, and will always be, The Soundtrack of Our Lives. Rounding out my top 3 faves are Ghost and In Solitude. The Who, Burt Bacharach, Gram Parsons, The Stones, MC5, etc. I love old soul, classical, and ethnic music from around the world. Music inspires me and I could not possibly live without it. I collect records, go to shows, and design concert posters for bands I like. I feel a responsibility to support my fellow artists and musicians.
I’m an armchair scholar; I strive to learn something new every day. Current obsessions include quantum physics, anything from the Victorian and Edwardian eras (yes, I am a Downton Abbey fanatic!), art nouveau, ancient history, architecture, antiques, and the golden age of piracy. Somehow I've been sucked into the show Criminal Minds.
I do my best to be compassionate and kind, and try to live by the golden rule. Doesn’t always work, but the point is to make the effort, right?
If you are a breast cancer survivor, looking for absolute excellence in reconstructive tattooing, then welcome! I combine my almost 20 years experience in professional tattooing with my Heart for emotional healing and Reiki healing energy.
I understand the importance that experience has in working with a body that has been through what breast cancer puts it through. I've always taken a special interest in studying how scar tissue behaves when tattooed, how it heals, how to improve it and ways it can limit the tattoo process. No doctor, nurse, or cosmetic tattooer has the confidence and competence that I do with this specialized tattooing. I am committed to excellence in tattooing when it comes to working with your body type, muscle structure and skin tone. Also, I am an award-winning fine artist in photo realism, so you know you are in good hands - your nipples WILL look exactly like real nipples! Maybe even better than the ones you were born with! always and forever, darling
I have been tattooing full time since 1996, after attending art school and a professional tattoo apprenticeship under a master artist. I have owned tattoo studios for over ten years, and have worked alongside some of the top tattoo artists in North America, at some of the best tattoo studios. I've been published in dozens of magazines, have won multiple awards for both my tattooing and my fine art, and have judged tattoo competitions at international tattoo conventions. I have also been interviewed on radio, television, and by multiple newspapers and magazines.
After so many years of wholehearted dedication to progressive, quality tattooing and creative approach, I've had well over 10,000 clients. I have also had the honour of being invited to assist surgeons in the hospital, with Breast Cancer areola reconstruction and reconstructive tattooing. This has given me an outstanding amount of knowledge and a deep understanding of how to execute lasting tattoos in every skin type, scar tissue, stretch marks, and sun damage - regardless of age, weight or skin type.
I believe in the power of quality in this work so much that I offer it to some pro-bono. I do not believe that one should sacrifice quality just because its covered by alberta health when done by a physician. This is a specialty type of work that absolutely needs to be done by a specialist. After all you've been through, don't you agree?
